NEW YORK (AP)—Phoenix Coyotes forward Raffi Torres has been suspended two games without pay for charging Minnesota Wild defenseman Nate Prosser.
cheap jerseyThe NHL made the announcement Monday, saying Torres will forfeit $42,682.93. He hit Prosser from behind during the first period of Phoenix’s 4-2 victory Saturday night, though no penalty was called on the play.
Torres, also suspended last season, was deemed a repeat offender. He will sit out Tuesday at St. Louis and Thursday at Los Angeles. He can return to the lineup Saturday against the New York Islanders.
